Safeguard Your Sight with a Professional Contact Lens Fitting
A proper contact lens exam and fitting are essential steps in protecting your long-term eye health. Contact lenses are medical devices that sit directly on the eye, so they must be fitted by an optometrist to prevent irritation or damage to the surface of the eye.
A professional fitting provides a customized experience tailored to your specific prescription and the unique shape of your eye, resulting in clearer vision and higher levels of comfort throughout the day.
Whether you’re interested in trying contact lenses for the first time or just need to update your prescription, the Prescott Valley Eye Care team is here to assist you. Book your contact lens exam and fitting today.
What Happens During a Contact Lens Exam?
Your visit begins with a comprehensive eye exam to evaluate your overall eye health and determine any vision problems, such as refractive errors, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
To achieve an accurate fit, we use the Medmont Topography device to precisely map your cornea (the clear, dome-shaped front surface of your eye).
Next, we provide a fitting and a trial period where you will learn how to safely insert, remove, and care for your lenses. After wearing the trial lenses for about one week, you will return for a follow-up appointment to confirm the lenses are performing well for your lifestyle.
Our contact lens fittings start at $80, for a total of $235 when combined with a comprehensive eye exam.

Our Specialty Contact Lenses
For many patients, standard contact lenses may not provide the clarity or comfort they need. We offer a variety of specialty options that can provide improved vision for individuals with irregular corneas, high prescriptions, astigmatism, and other vision correction needs.
During your appointment, we will discuss your daily activities and vision goals to find a solution tailored to you, whether you need lenses for dry eyes or contacts designed for digital work.
These lenses are made of a firm, oxygen-permeable material that maintains its shape on the eye. They are often recommended for individuals with high prescriptions or certain corneal irregularities, as they can provide crisper vision than soft lenses.
Designed with multiple zones of vision, multifocal lenses allow you to see clearly at near, intermediate, and far distances. They are an excellent option for individuals with presbyopia who wish to reduce their reliance on reading glasses.
Aspheric lenses are crafted with a special curvature that helps focus light more precisely. These can be particularly beneficial for patients with mild astigmatism or those who experience glare and “halos” in low-light conditions.
Toric lenses are specifically weighted and shaped to correct astigmatism, which is caused by an irregular curvature of the cornea or lens. These lenses stay stable on the eye to provide consistent vision for those with astigmatic prescriptions.
Scleral lenses are large-diameter lenses that vault over the entire corneal surface and rest on the white part of the eye (the sclera). They provide a smooth new optical surface for those who cannot achieve clear vision with traditional contact lenses.
Scleral Lenses for Keratoconus and Dry Eye
Scleral lenses offer a highly comfortable alternative for individuals with irregular corneas, such as those with keratoconus, as well as patients suffering from moderate to severe dry eye.
Unlike standard contacts, these lenses do not touch the sensitive corneal tissue; instead, they rest on the white part of the eye (the sclera) and pass over the cornea without touching it. When inserting a scleral lens, you fill the dome with sterile saline that creates a fluid reservoir between the lens and the eye. This reservoir keeps the eye constantly moist and hydrated throughout the day.
To achieve a precise fit, we use Zeiss OCT anterior segment scans to measure the front of your eye with microscopic accuracy.
