Comprehensive Vision Care for Every Stage of Life
Maintaining clear vision and healthy eyes involves more than just updating a prescription. Comprehensive eye exams serve as a vital foundation for preventive care, helping you maintain visual comfort and detect potential issues early.
At Prescott Valley Eye Care, we provide dedicated care for both adult patients and children 5 and up, tailoring our approach to meet the unique needs of every age group.
Whether you have a scheduled appointment or find yourself nearby, we welcome walk-in patients to help make eye care fit into your busy schedule.
How Often Should I Have an Eye Exam?
We recommend annual eye exams as a routine safeguard for your ocular health. Many vision-threatening eye diseases develop silently, progressing without noticeable symptoms in their early stages.
By visiting us every year, you allow our team to monitor subtle changes and detect issues before they impact your vision. Regular screenings are the most effective way to protect your sight for the long term.

What Happens During an Eye Exam?
Your visit is designed to be efficient and thorough. We value your time and strive to move you into pre-testing with a technician shortly after you check in.
Your experience will include diagnostic pre-testing, a one-on-one consultation with our optometrist, and personalized assistance in finding the right corrective wear.
Our team is committed to inclusive care; therefore, all of our exam lanes are fully wheelchair accessible. If you have any questions prior to your appointment, don’t hesitate to contact our team.
Our comprehensive eye exams start at $165.
Our technicians use diagnostic technology to assess your eye health and identify refractive errors, such as nearsightedness.
This stage of your appointment includes Optos retinal imaging, which provides a wide-field view of the back of your eye without needing dilation in many cases (pupil dilation is completed on a case-by-case basis).
These initial measurements provide a detailed map of your visual health before you meet the doctor.
During the formal exam, you will meet with your optometrist to determine your precise prescription and review the results from your pre-testing. The optometrist will show you any images of your eyes taken during pre-testing and describe their findings.
This is a collaborative time to discuss any specific vision concerns or lifestyle needs you may have. The doctor will evaluate your eye health and explain their findings in clear, understandable terms.
Once your exam is complete, you will work with an optician to select frames and lenses that suit your style and functional needs.
If you prefer contact lenses, we will guide you through the necessary fitting steps to select lenses that provide a comfortable and stable fit. Our goal is to make sure your eyewear feels as good as it looks.
An Eye Exam Is More Than a Vision Screening
Clear sight involves more than just addressing nearsightedness or farsightedness. Our evaluations include a thorough look at your visual function, checking how well your eyes work together as a team. This is an important part of your visual comfort, and when there are problems with your functional vision, you may experience headaches, eye fatigue or strain, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
We also address common lifestyle concerns such as dry eyes, light sensitivity, and glare while driving. Our optometrist and optician collaborate to provide tailored solutions and customized eyewear options that improve your daily comfort beyond a standard prescription.
